501words: a sneak peek

For the last six months, I’ve been carving out small chunks of time here and there to develop a new website called 501Words.

Last summer I set up an incognito blog called 501 words, with a goal of writing 501 words every day. I picked that number because it’s a decent, but not overwhelming, amount of words to write. And the domain was available.

I mostly spent 501 words every day talking about what it’s like to write 501 words everyday. My energy for it died, but not before a new idea came out of it — write about a random topic everyday, and invite others to be part of it too.

So, that’s what I’ve been working on since last November. I’m planning a more public announcement of it soon via my Creativityist blog after I smooth off a few rough edges. But, I’d welcome any feedback you have in the meantime. And if you want to set up your own account and participate, you are welcome to do that too.

You can follow @501words on Twitter for updates as the site goes more public, and of course, to get the word of the day every morning.
