I won’t lie — some client projects have a greater personal investment than others, and this was one of them. JR is a longtime friend who wanted a redesign on his website in conjunction with the release of his new book. I like JR, and I’d enjoyed an early draft of his book, so I said an immediate yes to being part of the final release.
I did the design on JR’s site, though I found a lot of inspiration in the typography and colors of his beautiful book cover. The site is responsive, meaning it adapts to the width of any device for easy reading, and was developed on WordPress. We added some additional functionality to his original blog, including a forum, and a custom post type for him to easily manage a bibliography of books to recommend to others. I’m thrilled with the results, and more importantly, JR is too.
